"Maybe"

by kiki2u @ 2006-06-01 - 10:31:50

." Once upon a time a peasant had a horse. This horse ran away,so the peasant's neighbours came to console him for his bad luck. He answered: "Maybe".
The day after the horse came back, leading 6 wild horses with it. The neighbours came to congratulate him on such good luck. The peasant said: "Maybe".
The day after, his son tried to saddle and ride on one of the wild horses, but he fell down and broke his leg. Once again the neighbours came to share that misfortune. The peasant said: "Maybe".
The day after, soldiers came to conscript the youth of the village, but the peasant's son was not chosen because of his broken leg. When the neighbours came to congratulate, the peasant said again :"May be".

Greeks short myths: CLITIE

by kiki2u @ 2006-06-01 - 08:47:37

. CLITIE:

The story of Clitie is unique in the Classic Greek Mythology, therefore, instead of in saying, them, of a god gotten passionate for a reluctant maiden, it deals with the opposite - an enamored maiden of a coy god. Clitie loved Sun-God, but this one not corresponded to this affect. The poor person was meagering with the disgust, always sit down on the floor, on streets, where ever she could watch him, turning invariable the face to him, and with her eyes following him, as Sun journey's was occuring on the SKY, during the day.
With her continually staring eyes, Clitie had been transformed at last in a flower: "Girassol" = Sunflower, wich is constantly turned to him.

.PS: As i love mythology's stories, i'll post, next days or whenever i want, some short ones, and i hope had translate it well from portuguese to english, at least well enough so it can be undertsood.
