"Sally don't bring no roses
when she comes to visit me.
The only thing she knows is
how to play Monopoly.

She's a Piccadilly woman
with a hotel on Park Lane,
an' I can hear her comin'
rollin' backwards in my brain.

I met her at a dive down
on Northumberland Avenue.
She said: Let's take a drive down
town, I 'II take a Chance on you.

An' then I threw a double
six an' landed in her game -
I should have seen her trouble ...
but I fell in love the same.

She was workin' as a banker
in the back of Leicester Square.
I stopped in one time an' drank her
wine but now she's never there.

She got houses up on Mayfair
where she keeps the royal jewels.
I'd ask her would she play fair...
but she changes all the rules!

Go straight to jail!... I hear it...
An' do not collect a cent!
She is standin' on my spirit
while she's raisin' up the rent.

Life's a game with every roll of
every dice she's ever thrown -
she just has to take control of
every life except her own.

Now I'm livin' in a slow hell
an' it's sendin' me insane.
Why would I want a hotel
when I need to buy a train ?

So I bought a railway station
to escape -I can't afford
no Chance for my destination .. .
but the dice rolled off the board!!

Sally don't bring no roses
when she comes to conquer me.
The only thing she knows is
how to RULE ... monopoly!!

She's a habit!! -I can't kick it!! -
but the place I'd rather be
is holdin' on that ticket
to "GET OUT OF JAIL FOR FREE"!"
